There are many benefits of joining a chapter of Kappa Sigma Psi.

 

Type of Sorority

For starters, you would be joining one of Canada's newest and fast growing national sororities. Within the first year of establishment, Kappa Sigma Psi expanded from being one local chapter to adding its first active alumnae chapter and a brand new colony! In addition to that, Kappa has being working with other interest groups with the hopes to expand even more these next few months and years.

Being a national sorority provides the benefits of both local and international sororities such as getting the opportunity to visit our other chapters/colonies and keep the cost of membership at a reasonable price.

Sisterhood

The heart and soul of any sorority is sisterhood. Our organization is rooted in the values of sisterhood and togetherness. We provide a safe and fun environment for our members. We pride ourselves in being accepting of others no matter their race, culture, religion, sexual orientation etc. Kappa Sigma Psi is about embracing each other's individuality and celebrating our uniqueness. The bonds we make with each other are unbreakable. We journey together no matter what obstacles life throws at us. 

Throughout the year, Alpha chapter host many internal events for its sisters. These events include but are not limited to, sleepovers, movie nights, game nights, bowling, bonfires, beach days etc. These events are meant to bring the chapter together and strengthen the bonds between each sister.

 

Social 

While Kappa places importance on academic excellence and philanthropic initiatives, we also believe in balancing our busy lifestyles with social events. Socializing is a great way to meet new people, make new friends and learn about yourself. Here at Kappa Sigma Psi we ensure that our sisters are socializing among each other and with other people in the local and Greek community. Throughout the year we organize social mixers, sister date nights, chapter retreats, alumnae appreciation events etc. You are sure to have an exciting schedule when you are a sister of Kappa Sigma Psi.

Networking

Joining an organization such as Kappa Sigma Psi grants you the opportunity to network with many people. You can always reach out to a fellow sister about getting an internship, apprenticeship, job, letter of recommendation and/or using them as a reference. Many of our active members are studying in the field of law, nursing, medicine, science, social work, emergency services, etc. In addition to that, many of our sisters have jobs in human resources, trades, telecommunications, entertainment, etc. No matter where you want to go in life, a sister is always willing to help you get there.

Leadership

The sisters of Kappa Sigma Psi pride themselves in being strong, active leaders who create a positive impact within the sorority and the community. We strive to demonstrate leadership in our day to day activities. Through service, academic excellence and sisterhood, each sister encourages one another to be the best leader she could possibly be.  Our sisters participate in extra curricular activities on and off campus such as student clubs, varsity sports, volunteer work, etc. Being involved in other groups outside of Kappa is very important to our sisters as it allows them to build experience, network with new people and make their post-secondary years more memorable.

Tradition

Though we are a newer organization, our organization is rooted in the tradition of fraternal organizations. With each passing day, we are adding to the rich history of Kappa Sigma Psi. Tradition is very important to our sorority. It is the traditions brought before us that bond us together and strengthen our sisterhood.
